This long linen shawl explores coffee not only as a pigment, but as part of the landscape itself.
Across one side, rolling hills emerge through layers of brown and beige. Deep tones recall concentrated espresso, gradually softening into the creamy shades of latte and cappuccino.
On the other, hills and palm forms connect the artwork back to coffee’s natural origins in highland landscapes. Concentrated coffee creates deeper, textured brushwork, while diluted washes produce softer and more distant forms.
There is something intentionally circular about the idea: using something grown from the earth to paint the earth itself.
